Started with 9 riders, finished with 10! Nick seemed to teleport himself to Cannington arriving just in time for tea and buns. Hoorah!
However, he missed the casual 28mph ride to the town of the webbed feet via Lympsham, Berrow, B-O-S and Pawlett. Made good time to Cannington despite a couple of unscheduled stops for Dave to sort out his mud flaps and Ivan to uncork the flat champagne.
Our good senses told us to cut the ride 5 miles short and go directly to the cafe. So we ignored this and promtly got soaked. Enjoyed the 30-35mph rant along the A39 though!
Cafe was very accomodating and there were enough small children around to blame for the puddles on the floor. Rate the cake gets an 8/10 - tea cake okay but no jam and wedge of sponge cake quite tasty.
Hope Andy appreciated all the extra training we gave him on the front of the bunch on the return leg. Long John Burns the baker did a couple of good turns too, as did Nick and Neil. Dropped off the back on the A370 - can't stand the windy conditions and too late in the day for me to be arsed to do anything about it. Mrs W very impressed with the time I got in (brownie point secured for another long ride!).
Looking forward to stats from King of the Garmin, Mr GPS himself!
