About 15 riders for a cold damp ride to Bristol. Ivan did a good job of sheparding us all the way. I was looking forward to the climb up Belmont hill but my boss phoned me when I was at the bottom so I ended up crawling up the hill with speaking to her as I went. Hope she did'nt get the wrong idea with all the heavy breathing.
After refreshements we made our way back through Lawrence Weston but Andy had to stop a couple of times to fix his mudguards. He could have picked a better place to stop :-).
Had a few drongo drivers trying to overtake us when there was not room.
As usual it kicked of between Clevedon and Yatton when Neil looked like he was going to win the sprint but got held up when overtaking a cyclist with a car coming the other way but Ivan did'nt see this as a problem :-) and stole the sprint.

I agree with you - lots of bad drivers out on Saturday. This was nicely finished off by some idiot in Weston who dropped a beer can out of the passenger window of a car while I was waiting next to it for the lighs to change. Well I could only assume this was an error on his part so I picked it up and popped it back through his window. Needless to say he then attempted to knock me off by opening the door but only clipped the back wheel as I rode away. I then got a load of verbal abuse so ducked down an alley to get away and then went home.

Anyway, enough moaning. I had a good view of the sprint from behind - usual place for me! I could see another Cheddar Gorge moment for Ivan - there was clearly a gap of about 6 inches so why wouldn't you go through it! I'd give that ride a Rate the Cake score of 8/10 and a Knacker Factor of 8/10.

It was very thoughtful of you to pop the beer can back through the window as it saved him from having to open his door to retrive it :-). There are some real prats around!!!
I agree with your 'Rate the Cake' rating - 8/10 I was so impressed I almost eat Dave's tea cake when the waitress tried to give it to me :-).
