just when we were beginning to take the dry weather for granted....

is it the imminent tour in yorkshire, is it the pilton pop festival, is it the laws of meteorological physics? whatever it is, i don't like it!

anyway, showers are forecast so we'll head for king weston house. if it happens to be dry we could stretch our legs to chepstow, but don't count on it!

latchers on can latch on in congresbury.

well, the enthusiasm to ride to chepstow was quickly washed away by the black clouds of doom that hung over kings weston house. so an extended coffee break followed as we watched the storm give our bikes a much needed wash. at the cafe the tour sweepstake was drawn under uci rules under the close scrutiny of mr. telford. here are the runners and riders:

ivan - chris kenyan (i know, i know, i know....)
    neil - alberto balsam
    nick - vince nibali
    martin - allesandro valvepo
    rich - andrea talansky
    bern - cappuccino costa
keith - jurgen van car hire
paul - ferme porte (larry grayson's tip)
carlos - tea (j) in the garden
    sam - rosemary kreuziger
    pete - jaoquin rodtheguest
    malcolm - tiny pinot
    mike - bloke mollyma
    ade - rigoberto urine

the journey home was thankfully dry, so we were all very pleased to have got away with it.

paul was so happy that he invitated everybody to come into his garden for coffees. a few of us happily accepted the offer extended (though jeannie politely refused, citing that she didn't have enough time to come - whatever that means...)

not much else to report, a paltry 55 miles.

I love the riders names although it took me a while to work some of them out eg Alberto Balsom.

After coffee at Pauls I'm now fully up to speed on military hardware and phrases :-)

Some good chases from Portishead and across Kenn Moor.

Good to see Neal and on good form.
