Weston Chain Gang
Welcome to the Weston Chain Gang forum. We are a group of cyclists that ride regularly from Weston-super-Mare. We meet at Priory school on Saturday at 8:45. Rides vary in distance between 60 and 100 miles with a stop for cake. Ridet nec genere!
Only 5 people showed up – Neil, Phil, Artu, Nick and myself. Ivan handed in his excuse note the previous night. Apparently he is cycing to the lake district or was it motorcycling. Without leadership we decided to head to Ivans choice of Chepstow. Neil set a good pace up the A370 and we were soon on the road to Belmont hill. Artu took the honors at the top of the hill. We had the usual blast along the top to the traffic lights. The Severn Bridge was closed to cars so we enjoyed a quiet crossing. The cafe/pub (which is it?) was the usual shambles but Phil enjoyed his baggette. On the return trip we enjoyed the decent through Bulwark. After crossing the Avon bridge we had a mechanical stop as 9 Pints was unable to enter the big ring. It looks like his gear cable was in need of lubrication but no beer was on hand. After exiting Portishead Neil managed to latch on to the back of a large trailer and hitched a ride all the way to Clevedon. The rest of us we dragged there by Nick.
