Saturday 18th November - podimore

This week see the welcome return of the Olympic breakfast and the amorous waitresses.

Triathlete option will be Glastonbury and we'll drop the iron men off in winscombe.

I'd welcome a quiet trundle into the cafe this week but I will reluctantly get out of the saddle if someone is silly enough to light things up again. Will you boys ever learn?

There were plenty of riders keen to get out on the first cold morning of the autumn. After witnessing a minor shunt outside Priory school we set off for the grand destination of Podimore services via Puxton, Winscombe and Wedmore. About half of the riders took the option of stopping at Heapeys in Glastonbury while the rest made a dash for Podimore.
The ride home was fairly swift. Several riders peeled off at various points to make their own way home. No major incidents to report.

What do you mean 'about half stopped at Glastonbury'? There were 18 riders at Priory, we picked up Nick on the way to make 19 and then lost Ade at Winscombe - so 18 went to Glastonbury. Of those, 4 (FOUR!) went to Podimore. That's more like 80% stopped! Not that I'm grumbling about the ride - really enjoyed the 'let's take it easy' ride home that varied between 19 and 25 mph most of the way back. The only reason the speed dropped was because I blew up at Mark on the way home and couldn't be arsed with it anymore. Many thanks to Neil, Ivan and Meirion who saw me safely back to Weston. (my face by the time I got home!)
