Saturday 1st of June Quantock Bounce

what better way to welcome in the glorious british summer than with soggy microwaved bacon baps?

that's right, we'll retire at fyne court after conquering dead woman's ditch and cothelstone, shame martin's not out (he he.)

methinks we'll need some flat rides to recover for a few weeks after this one!

who's for a shaftesbury hundred next week (8/6)? will announce on saturday morning.

I'm sorry to say I shall miss the bacon baps of Fyne Court tomorrow as I am off to Dartmouth for the day! Would be happy to do a Shaftesbury 100 next Saturday providing the weather is okay.

Went to podimore today very quickly. Came back very slowly. Got a bit of sun and felt woozy.

If I feel dodgy tomorrow I may end up doing a quantock flinch. ie up the ramp at the side of pines with the naerdowells.

I'll try my best to stick to plan A but, if not I'm sure that someone else will know the way and lead the 'bounce' route.

As Ivan says the ride today to Podimore (going out) was quick. 21mph average to the Little Chef.

We saved some money because fully leaded Coca Cola replaced the usual stupid Olympic breakfast. We made up for it back in Glastonbury on the return leg where we observed a Hitchcock version of 'The bees' as they built a hive in a nearby tree.

You'll be pleased to hear that we had another road rage incident going up to Banwell Castle. Nothing serious though, just a knob in a Mercedes and there were no snapped keys involved.

Yes it was a gloriously sunny day and I now have the trademark cyclist's suntan.

Tomorrow (& Sunday) I am in Torguay/Paignton so can't make the Saturday ride, so you'll have to enjoy it without me and my red & white arms.

You will also like to know I found a 33% hill in Dartmouth - looks a beast. Shame I didn't have my bike with me (not).
