Ah ha! The Giro d' Bruton. Wondered how much longer you could hold out. It must be a good couple of months since we last went there. Forecast suggests a bit of moisture in the air tomorrow so winter wheels going back on. That'll give me an excuse for being at the back of the bunch!

Re: saturday 4/5 bruton
Cripes - found that ride tough yesterday. Completely ran out of energy at Cheddar. Slogged up the Axbridge by-pass at 8 mph, recovered a little through Winscombe and across to Banwell but barely managed to turn the crank up to the castle. Glad no-one waited for me - it was embarassing! Closest I've come to getting off and calling Mrs W but crawled home at 2:45 p.m.
Hope everyone else got home safely.
PS - check out the birthday list on the home page. I've updated my profile to reflect how I feel!

Ride report
10 riders for a wet start after a lovely week.
We headed off for Bruton but at Sandford 'Burns the Bread' got a puncture in his rear tub/tyre. He changed it very quickly and we were off again dodging the rain showers up Burrington Combe then along the top of the Mendips towards Evercreech. Ivan set a new record down 50mph hill with over 57mph!!!
At the Chapel in Bruton we had the excelent bread. Paul decided against ordering the pizza again after he got charged extra for tomatoe sauce!!!
The ride back home was very tough with alot of the time spent heading into the wind.
Tea cake rating (toast today) - 8/10 it would have been 10/10 but it was cold.
Knacker factor - 10/10 note to self not to drink with Ivan et al on a Thursday night. Tough ride.

Re: saturday 4/5 bruton
Wish I could have joined you guys.
Don't know what lurgy I've got, but it is leaving me with very little energy. I'd be lucky to get a ride in this week.
On a positive note: Ivan, well done on the downhill speed. We should enter that into the 'Bruton run' record books.
Hope to be out soon. Cheers!
