Well the ride to Fynes Court today was a very easy, slow paced affair with speeds well under the normal pace that one would expect . . . . .
Yeah right!
The 3 man group consisted of me (Nick), Ivan & Paul Burns. There's probably no need to mention anything else, but on the way down we would have been lucky if we went slower than 25mph. Bridgwater came & went in no time & next thing we knew we were presented with the sharp climb to Dead Womens Ditch. The descent down to Crowcombe was +50mph which was pretty exhilerating. The temperature drop at the bottom was short lived cos we warmed up nicely on the climb up Cothelstone. Coffee, bacon sandwich, ploughmans lunch, whatever, we could have stayed in the nice warm coffee shop. No worries, as we're going to take it easy on the return journey. More lies !
I was quite pleased to get home & jump in the shower. Tomorrow's ride will be flatter . . . . I hope!
