Boxing day riders met at 9.00 as planned. We decided not to got to Glastonbury as we thought that there might not be a café open large enough to accommodate us all, so after much discussion we opted for a shorter route onto the Mendips.
I set a cracking pace beating everyone to the first stop at Tynings after a punishing Shipham climb. The café was closed but luckily I had a big enough supply of biscuits and mince pies for everyone to share. Route home was via Burrington and Lower Langford. Although a shorter route, I think everyone enjoyed it. When you read this Ivan, remember not to mention any musicians/singers at the café stops to reduce the risk of them being dead the next day.
