Left it as late as possible this week, but no amount of patience will shift the rain forecast and sunday looks far from great either.

    But you never know.....

If it turns out to be better than forecast (damp rather than a washout) we'll head out on our usual circuit of the cafes (Burnham, Ritchie's, Sweet's) and see what happens.

Route out will Toll Road, Sea Front, Anchor.

Ride Report for the hardcore WCG!

There was a surprisingly large turn out considering the weather - 2 !!!!
Me and a guy called Nick who we haven't seen for a long time. No not that Nick who is still rumoured to own a Pinerello but Nick from the running club.

We left promptly at 8:50 so sorry to all of you that may have turned up late.

As the rain continued to fall we made our way to the sea front where we got the first taste of the headwind and rain lashing that was to continue all the way south.

On the way out by the Cabot and Pier we saw Sams cycling buddies who were taking shelter. They gave us a cheery wave. We then saw rugby Neil(?) by the Pier, sheltering in a bus stop. Once again we got a wave but he didn't seem to keen to join us and looked like he was waiting for a bus back home.

By the time we got to Berrow my wheel sucking abilities were beginning to fade and we made a tactical decision to turn around and head home.

What a difference a direction makes! The trip back home was a joy despite some rain. We enjoyed the tail wind and it only felt like 10 mins before we were back in wsm.

    TTCR - 0 - didn't stop
    OJC - 1
    KF - 4/5

    idiots.

if dry (???????????????????????????????) i may venture out tomorrow.

if i stay in i shall have completed my first zero miles week since the great freeze of 2011; or was it 2010/12? so long ago i can't remember, all i know is, it was the only time i got use out of my mtb (for commuting to work) and turbo trainer (for annoying the neighbours, who were also housebound; with a loud whirring sound.) i do recall pulling some wicked handbrake turns on the compacted snow on the road (in the car!!!) outside the house on the way back from somerfield, loaded up with marathon bars, spangles and opal fruits (whilst listening to the latest pickettywitch single.)
