Previously forecast rain for tomorrow has disappeared.  It may even be sunny and with a moderate SW wind conditions should be OK for our Wednesday Group ride.

Destination and route TBC but will probably be Wells Wizzerspoons via some roads.

    Priory 9.00.

Addendum: BBC is now showing possible light shower around 9.00/10.00

Route out will be Puxton, Sandford, Nipitt Throbwell, East Harptree, Chewton Mendip, Horrington

8 riders showed up for this little jaunt to Wells. A leisurely pace took us across the flatlands of Puxton to Sandford where we took the sh//&y lane to Churchill before heading through Langford and crossing the A38 towards Burrington. Took to the back lanes towards N'net Throbwell where Keith's wheel had a disagreement with a pot hole and needed a replacement tube. The Gordon memorial ride then took us down more crap covered and flooded roads to Chew Stoke. Jeannie blew us off(!) at Sutton Wick and went home leaving the rest to continue up Stowey Hill. At this point Steve admitted it wasn't quite the route he had in mind and there followed a brief discussion as to which way to go. Having seemingly agreed on heading for Farrington Gurney Bernie cruised past and continued up the road to Hinton Blewitt!

Never mind, like a load of Lemmings we followed along narrow mucky lanes and finally arrived at Chewed-on-Mydick. With time running out for the tea and toast special at Weatherspoons in Wells the decision was made to go direct via the A39. After a slog over the top and a brief chat with the Gordon group who were already in Wells we arrived at Spoons at 12 and a bit and had to settle for the £3.39 toastie and unlimited coffee rather than the £2 tea and toast special!

Usual route back via Fanny Castle and Burtle etc. with a final mileage of 64. OJC: 1, TTCR: 8/10, KFC: 3/5.
